S3 Skills Development

This session, in Biggar High School, the Staff Skills Development Group are piloting the delivery of key skills with our S3 pupils to raise the awareness of the importance of skills, and how these can be developed through learning in the curriculum and extra- curricular activities. This week, the S3 attended an assembly to raise the profile of 'Employability Skills' in the curriculum. 

The S3 pupils will be preparing for a mock job interview, which will take place as in April/May as part of our IDL programme. S3 pupils will track their skills development in school, using their My World of Work Profiles, supported by the Skills Development Group and our SDS Careers Advisor, Phyllis McCann. 

I'm sure you will agree that this is a very exciting project and one that will prepare our young people for the world of work.
